Ballet Journal Privacy Policy

Data Collection

Ballet Journal does not sell personal data and does not include advertising, cross-app tracking, or an ongoing account system.

The app collects limited anonymous product analytics so we can understand app usage and improve reliability and usability. Analytics includes an app-generated installation identifier, a per-launch session identifier, app version, device family, operating-system version, language, screens viewed, and interactions with core features. It does not include your name, journal text, course names, practice dates, selected body areas, photos, videos, or exported journal files.

The anonymous installation identifier is used to calculate aggregate measures such as unique visitors, page views, feature adoption, and completion funnels. It is not used to track you across other companies' apps or websites. Events may be held briefly on your device while waiting for a network connection and are sent over HTTPS to the analytics service configured by Ballet Journal.

Journal content is not transmitted as analytics.

Data Stored on Your Device

Practice records, reflections, selected body areas, practice types, achievements, settings, and attached photos and videos are stored locally on your device. This information is used only to provide the app's journal features.

Deleting the app may delete its locally stored data. Ballet Journal does not currently provide cloud backup or account-based recovery.

Data Export

You may export your journal text and record metadata as a Markdown file. The file is created on your device and saved to a destination you choose through Apple's system file picker. Photo and video data is not included; attachment filenames are listed so the export remains small and readable.

Photos and Videos

When you choose to attach photos or videos, Apple's system photo picker lets you select specific items. Ballet Journal stores private copies with the related practice record. It does not scan your photo library or upload the selected media as analytics.

Face ID and Device Authentication

If you enable the optional app lock, Ballet Journal asks iOS to authenticate you with Face ID, Touch ID, or the device passcode. The app does not receive or store your biometric data.

Children

Ballet Journal does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

If the app's data practices change, this policy will be updated before the corresponding version is released.
